Change, certainly...
How can one not comment on Senator Obama's victory? What a wonderful, inspiring day for America and one which gives real hope. The man is the most charismatic politician in a long time and the optimism which his election has obviously triggered gives everyone the feeling that maybe some fundamental change really will happen. Heaven only knows that America needs it...
On a slightly worrying note, I understand that Lawrence Lessig is one of Obama's advisors on Intellectual Property; will we see the flawed Orphan Works Bill kicked in to touch...? We can only hope.

Left brain, right brain
This has got nothing to do with my routine photographic work, but every now and then you see or read or hear about something that is really quite moving.
I was sent a link to a talk by Jill Bolte Taylor, a neuro-scientist and intellectual who suffered a stroke a few years ago. I have an interest in left-brain-right-brain interchange, due simply to my beautiful daughter who was born with dysgensis of the corpus callosum. So I watched this, was very moved by her description of what happened to her and how she coped with it and I continue my quest to try and work out how to deal with my daughter's condition and how we live with, and manage, this over the years. Do watch it, it's not often that you see someone as articulate as this, able to talk about something as life-changing.
